About Colts Neck NJ

Colts Neck is a township in Monmouth County, NJ. It has an approximate population of 9.968 residents according to a 2017 census. Although it was established by an act of the New Jersey Legislature in 1847 as Atlantic Township, its name was changed to Colts Neck in 1962. Originally a farming community, Colts Neck has long been known for its many equestrian farms. This is probably the origin of the name Colts Neck. Geographically it is bound by the Monmouth County communities of Freehold Township, Holmdel Township, Howell Township, Marlboro Township, Middletown Township, Tinton Falls and Wall Township.
