About Chelsea NYC
Chelsea in NYC, is a neighborhood located on the west side of Manhattan New York City with an approximate population of 47,325. Its name “Chelsea” is derived from the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London, England. Chelsea is primarily a residential neighborhood and it contains the Chelsea Historic District and its extension. The two were designated as such by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1970 and 1981 respectively.
